Artist Bio

Martina Diez-Routh is a London-based painter whose work explores light, atmosphere, and the emotional presence of mountain landscapes.

Her main body of work is in soft pastels, used in a distinctly painterly way to capture colour, weather, and shifting alpine light. These paintings are informed by many years living and working in the mountains of Colorado and Argentina, as well as extended time spent in the Italian Alps, which remain a central source of inspiration.

Alongside this established pastel practice, Martina is currently working increasingly in oils, developing a parallel body of work that allows for greater depth, layering, and tonal richness. She is also expanding her practice through watercolour and mixed media, exploring fluidity, movement, and contrast across different surfaces.

In addition to her artistic practice, Martina works in the international ski industry, a perspective that deepens her long-term relationship with mountain environments beyond the purely visual.

She has exhibited widely in London, and in the Aosta Valley, Italy.
