I wanted to recreate something that I love when we go skiing with my latest painting. As much as I love coming down at speed on my skis, I also love my stops- more now that I am becoming older. I really appreciate having a lovely lunch or stop for cappuccino or hot chocolate in a beautiful terrace that allows you to admire the views!
When one is skiing, at least myself, I concentrate on the piste ahead and obstacles in the way (rocks, people, etc)... - so I cannot really enjoy the landscape. I do enjoy it going up the chairlifts or surface lifts, and also, when we stop for a drink or a bite! Courmayeur is a beautiful resort from where you look at it. It is by the Monte Bianco and its' massif, and all the mountains there are enormous compared to yourself! It is really worth it to take your time to admire the views. Plus, the food is not expensive and is so good- that is something that Italy has better than any other Alpine (and North American) country! You ought to stop for lunch!
Here I am showing an early arrival of a group to have lunch on the sunny part of the terrace of Bar Ristorante Chiecco- this is a restaurant that if you want, you can access with a short stroll up the hill from the arrival of the funicular or cablecar at Plan Checrouit. I prefer to go on skis. The black lab is there to greet the guests. I love black labs, as I own one, so I put him there on the scene. There is a bit of anticipation while the guests start to seat down and are ready to have a lovely time.
