The Grivola, a perfect shape summit mountain (with its triangular shape) stands at 3969 meters between the valley of Cogne and Valsavarenche. As it is pretty far away from other mountains, it is very visible from different parts of the Aosta Valley. For example, you see it when skiing in Courmayeur, as well as from Morgex (this is as it is seen from Pautex, one hamlet of Morgex, the centre of the Valdigne - Valley of Monte Bianco).
I painted it as a diptych and framed it with a mount in the middle of the two pieces. (as pastels are safe when well framed), measuring 1 m x 65 cm (approx 40" x 26"). I have used pan pastels, soft pastels and charcoal on La Carte Pastel (two pieces of 50 x 65 cm).
