Painted en plein air in the hamlet of Morgex, this work lingers on the quiet charm of Via Condemines, a narrow street lined with traditional stone houses. What drew me most was the dark grey façade with its rare, beveled-edge stone window — a detail chiselled with numbers, the kind you only find scattered across the Aosta Valley.
The intimacy of the lane, the muted tones of weathered stone, and the play of light slipping between buildings all create a sense of timelessness. Working quickly in oils, I tried to preserve the atmosphere of this road — a place where history is carved in stone and shadow, and where every angle tells a story of the valley’s heritage.
