Painted en plein air from the hamlet of Pautex along the bike path, this piece captures the restless atmosphere of a windy, cloud-streaked day when the light was shifting by the minute. The mountains loomed with a dramatic presence, veiled in mist and shadow, only to be revealed again in fleeting bursts of colour and brilliance.
Working quickly in oils, I sought to lock in the transient glow before it disappeared, letting instinct and speed guide the brush. The result is a raw impression of Monte Bianco — powerful, elusive, and alive with movement, as if the mountain itself were breathing with the sky.
